Figure skaters from across Vancouver Island and the Sunshine Coast will compete in Campbell River this month.

A total of 34 skaters of all ages and skill levels from the Campbell River Skating Club will showcase their talents in 65 events at the Vancouver Island Interclub Competition. Taking place at Strathcona Gardens from Nov. 15 to 17, the categories include freeskate, elements, ice dance, team events and artistic.

The competition is an opportunity for skaters from communities across Vancouver Island to demonstrate their skill, dedication, and passion for figure skating, said Rory Allen, the club's director of programs.

"It’s a wonderful way to celebrate our community, bring people together, and inspire young skaters by giving them a chance to compete and showcase their hard work," he said.
