Victoria's Giorgos Pantelas will head to Canada’s World U17 development camp on July 18.

Langford's Giorgos Pantelas has been invited to attend Hockey Canada's development camp ahead of the 2024 World Under-17 Championship.

The defenceman, who plays for the WHL's Brandon Wheat Kings, is one of 80 players from across the country that will be attending camp to fight for a roster spot on the team.

Born in Laval, QC, the Langford local was a first-round pick for the Wheat Kings in 2023, having spent the previous season with Kelowna's RINK Hockey Academy in the Canadian Sport School Hockey League, posting 16 points in 30 games.

The 16-year-old made his WHL debut last season against the Regina Pats in the final game of the regular season, finishing with an even rating and three shots on goal.

Pantelas will join the camp in Oakville, Ont., from July 18 to 24, alongside Victoria Royals defenceman Keaton Verhoeff.
