LETTERS: North Saanich can’t escape growth

LETTERS: North Saanich can’t escape growth

I agree with Eric Diller. It appears there is well organized, self-interested group of residents who publish misinformation and misrepresentation to sway and bully the council’s update of the North Saanich official community plan.
LETTER: Police uniforms need a makeover

LETTER: Police uniforms need a makeover

I was recently sitting in a coffee shop on Beacon Avenue enjoying where I live. Three RCMP officers walked across the street together, dressed in black from head to foot, wrapped in bulletproof vests and equipment/weapon belts, looking like something from the Dark Side.
LETTER: Action needed to save local storytelling

LETTER: Action needed to save local storytelling

These days, when I open my newspaper I’m always wondering whether it’s the last time I’ll get to read my favourite column or get a story about what’s happening in our community. Due to years of government inaction and the hostility of big foreign players, Canada’s news industry is dying.
LETTER: Development is not the enemy

LETTER: Development is not the enemy

LETTER: Water supply can’t keep pace with development

I wrote a letter published July 22, Development putting a strain on infrastructure, where I raised concerns about climate change and precious water resources. My letter was on page A6, and on page A15 there was a Notice to Electors from the CRD to borrow $46 million.

LETTER: High standard of care needed for Turkey Head

The Oak Bay Marine Group, who have managed the property for many years, has been selected to redevelop the area known as Spewhung/Turkey Head.
LETTER: Replace Beacon wharf with a similar structure

LETTER: Replace Beacon wharf with a similar structure

Further to the March 18 letters to the editor, which included Hood Canal castoff not wanted, your July 15 edition, which included a picture of the proposed floating Beacon wharf, confirms my objection.
