Summer is in full swing and as the temperature increases, so do the number of residents who are enjoying the great outdoors. Whether it’s by bike, on foot or otherwise, Saanich is taking steps to ensure your safety through infrastructure improvements.

The traffic light on Cadboro Bay Road at Florence goes red too frequently. As an example, the lights at Foul Bay Road going towards the high school change to green, and right after the light at Florence goes red. One cannot make it through the light at Florence.

Your recent headline about Saanich Police failing to take reports of sexual assault seriously and mishandling cases brought to mind a bad memory for me.

Isn’t ICBC wonderful with its new low rates.

Vic News and MP Randall Garrison are both perfectly correct in your July 22nd issue. The B.C. government must make a move one way or the other on old-growth logging. And the Liberals must step up for the action directives of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

Ah yes, lovely Victoria, where the soft carcinogenic-laced ocean breezes wafting from the multi-daily cruise ships have been sorely missed.

A recent bike ride on the Lochside Regional Trail, between Lochside Park and Dooley Road, was anything but enjoyable. The volume of forensic evidence would suggest the passage of several horses within the past few days - none that were fitted with manure bags. Totally disgusting!
