Island athletes, this could be your shot at snagging an Olympic medal.

RBC Training Ground – a talent-scouting and development program that helps Canadian athletes train and compete in the Olympics – will set up shop at the University of Victoria's CARSA centre on March 29.

There, coaches will test 14- to 25-year-old potential Olympians' core physical metrics, such as strength, endurance and power. Olympic scouts in attendance will identify those with the most potential for sporting success.

Since its inception in 2016, RBC Training Ground has helped 21 program alumni reach the Olympics, 12 of whom have brought home medals.

One of the program's many success stories is two-time Olympic medallist Avalon Wasteneys, who won silver and gold medals at the Tokyo and Paris Olympics.
