The controversy surrounding the North Saanich official community plan is all about density. Let’s have a referendum to find out what the majority wants. Do you want more density in North Saanich? Yes or No.

I wrote a letter published July 22, Development putting a strain on infrastructure, where I raised concerns about climate change and precious water resources. My letter was on page A6, and on page A15 there was a Notice to Electors from the CRD to borrow $46 million.

I am responding to the news that the provincial government is paying out $50 million to support tourist attractions. I find it odd that there is money for the forest museum, but not for the forests. I find it odd that there is money for water parks, but not for watersheds.

Summer is in full swing and as the temperature increases, so do the number of residents who are enjoying the great outdoors. Whether it’s by bike, on foot or otherwise, Saanich is taking steps to ensure your safety through infrastructure improvements.

The traffic light on Cadboro Bay Road at Florence goes red too frequently. As an example, the lights at Foul Bay Road going towards the high school change to green, and right after the light at Florence goes red. One cannot make it through the light at Florence.

Your recent headline about Saanich Police failing to take reports of sexual assault seriously and mishandling cases brought to mind a bad memory for me.

Isn’t ICBC wonderful with its new low rates.
