The NDP’s pre-election claim that it has “protected” nearly 353,000 hectares of old growth forests is all spin.

The letter on the loss of character of the Town of Sidney by Margaret J. Jestico is, in my humble opinion, right on the money, but lest she lay this at the feet of the current administration that would be an error.

I was very impressed with the letter from Margaret J. Jestico of Saanichton for its insight on our “Condo City” here in Sidney.

Education system fails lessons on littering, reader says

I would like to express my sincere gratitude to some of Sidney’s finest citizens.

Having viewed Oak Bay’s webpage devoted to the Takaya Reflections project, and having watched their video of the effort to honour the tragic story of Takaya, I agree that much of the impetus around the idea for this commission is lovely, and the art piece seems decently considered.

One obvious conclusion arising from this pandemic is that health issues don’t recognize borders. But despite the massive consequences of COVID-19, our political leaders still haven’t grasped it.

Grumpy Taxpayer$ has examined the conclusions of the Island Corridor Foundation survey (Rail survey finds strong support for revitalized service on Vancouver Island, Victoria News, Oct. 16) and awarded them their not-really-coveted top Pinocchio Award.

In the Oct. 15 edition, Norm Rider wrote about lack of parking enforcement in Central Saanich. The same situation exists in Sidney, with a town-wide 24-hour maximum parking limit.
