I want to bring to your attention the recent decision by Saanich related to dogs in Cadboro Bay Gyro Park.

With Saanich’s approval of the condominium development on the edge of Elk/Beaver Lake Regional Park, Saanich council, in keeping with its stand on climate change, must now require the developer to plant at the very least three times the 55 mature trees [165 trees] that will be cut down to make room for the development.

I do not agree with the letter from the members of the Community Association of Oak Bay saying the public has been shut out of decisions on the marina. I have been given an opportunity to respond and did. I read what resulted and I am satisfied. More input would clog up progress and overwhelm what is intended .

We would like to offer a very sincere thank you to all those who helped us out recently.

I was writing a letter in response to Mr. Elliott’s letter supporting greater density in Saanich, adding the crying need for green space. I turned a few pages and read the article about Coun. Zac de Vries and the 3-30-300 rule concerning the accessibility to green space in Saanich.

Regardless of Teale Phelps Bondaroff’s motives behind his drive to ban gas-powered leaf blowers, he has our support.

Our Senate is going to debate the passing of Bill C-12 which addresses Canada’s continuing role in environmental accountability and setting our standards to address the climate crises.

Please add my name to what I’m sure is a very, very long list of those who are vehemently opposed to the cancellation of Canada Day celebrations in Victoria.

I am very concerned about the RCMP special force that has been sent to extract forest defenders from the woods in the Port Renfrew and Lake Cowichan areas on southern Vancouver Island. Things are going from bad to worse.

Re: School Parking problems plague Falkland. Our street, Beaverbrooke, once labeled St. Michaels University School’s de facto parking lot, is three feet narrower than Falkland. Therefore their logic sited in the Oak Bay News is flawed. “Residents cite potential dangers with changing parking rules on Falkland, noting it is a narrower thoroughfare with visibility and safety issues.”
